Manu Tention

Manu Tention defines himself as a city healer, street nurse, urban surgeon… He repairs the city where it is broken.

Roaming the city by van, bike, cart or on foot, he collects abandoned materials - pallets, wood, hardware... - which he recycles in order to repair the public space. The recycled wood he uses is painted in red and recalls the colour of blood and/or the Red Cross in order to attract the attention of passers-by and the authorities who forget - sometimes for many years - to repair the city where it is "wounded".

Manu Tention will be working in Brussels in two stages: he will first come to Brussels for a few days in the Summer to carry out repairs mainly in the neighbourhood of the Serge Creuz school (Comte de Flandre). In November, he will come back to work with the school's carpentry students during a workshop to show and share his techniques. Then they will repair the city together.
