Launch of Feral Magazine n°4 with an intervention by Eden Tinto Collins
Feral Medieval
A battle of imaginaries, envisioning new commons, rewildling knowledge…
Feral Medieval explores the emancipatory power of the Middle Ages through contemporary artistic practices. In its pages, you will encounter Jane Dark, fiery Beguines, an agency for kin families, an island where people organise against the damning of marshland, creams that make you fly, and many other forms and tactics where the Middle Ages are times of struggle and experimentation.
With contributions by : Amalia Laurent, aniara rodado & Martin Howse, Aurel Leforestier, Bryana Fritz & Stefa Govaart, Chloé Deligne, Clara Thomine, Clovis Maillet, Eden Tinto Collins, fede fantini, Anna Czapski & Diederik Peeters / Futurology of Cooperation, Giulia Piana & Chiara Monteverde / Micha’s Amateur Theatre Group, La Guilde Royale Saint Sébastien de Schaerbeek, McCloud Zicmuse, Moni Wespi, Ondine Cloez & Viviane Genest, Open Source Publishing, Pierre-Olivier Dittmar, Rita Fenendael, Simona Denicolai, The Aunties, Toestand and Yohanan JB Lefebvre.
The launch
In the presence of the editorial team - Leslie Doumerx, Flore Herman, Lucie Caouder and Nina Saulier - we will celebrate this launch by unsticking the freshly printed pages of the magazine. We will raise a glass, and place ourselves in the creative hands of Eden Tinto Collins and the brilliance of Jane Dark.
On this occasion, the artist will present their installation Ordalie Tardive, inspired by 15th-century tapestries of foliage and mille-fleurs motifs. These woven forests where plants, animals and myths coexist were often produced in Flandres and bear the memory of an imagination shared by what would, a few centuries later, become Europe. It is within this medieval-inspired setting that Jane Dark will appear to evoke, through singing (R&B, jazz, spiritual, ambient, synth-pop), another possible memory.
